OverDrive backup server stuck at “Connecting…”
Found: while fixing an unrelated KVM problem. Tried: a reboot, replication, and restarting the service stack. None of it fixed it. Status: documented and escalated to the vendor.
Sometimes the most useful thing you do is notice the problem before it matters, and write down what you already tried.
OverDrive closed captions and the Voyager 8 upgrade
Situation: the vendor’s workaround for a closed-caption issue added a pause to the captions. What I did: monitored the workaround in operation. A separate problem, Voyager crashing on open, was handled on its own track so the two didn’t get tangled.
Inception and Nexio: MOS placeholders not resolving
Symptom: MOS placeholders from Inception weren’t resolving to Nexio media. What I did: opened a vendor case with the environment, the impact, and a request for logs.
XPression plugin preview loss
Symptom: the XPression plugin preview stopped showing. Usual fix: restart the Bluebox service through the XPN Status Client. It’s documented in the Inception/XPression workflow SOP.
