Context
Operations were consolidated into a new broadcast center. An integrator built the studio systems and handed them over in 2025. A second integration phase on an adjoining building finished in September 2026.
What I did
- Learned the new systems after handoff and worked through the open issues list.
- Supported the Chief Engineer on the second integration phase and coordinated with the integrator.
- Ran “white glove” workflow walkthroughs with Tech Ops and production, so people saw their actual workflow in the new rooms before they had to use it live.
- Set up the shared Synology workspace and got the Pro Tools room ready.
- Wrote onboarding guides and quick-reference sheets for staff moving in.
Why the walkthroughs mattered
A building can pass every integrator test and still fail on day one because people can’t find the thing they used to do without thinking. The walkthroughs caught those gaps early, and the quick-reference sheets kept the answers around after I left the room.
