I worked with a systems integrator on storage modernization, including how Synology fits into the newsroom’s day-to-day workflows.
Sony Ci to iconik
The migration from Sony Ci to iconik was vendor-led. My part draws on earlier work automating Sony Ci asset workflows through its REST API (see the Toolkit).
What makes this hard
The MAM is where every other system meets: ingest, edit, transcode, playout, archive. When something breaks here, it shows up somewhere else first. Most of the work is tracing a file’s path back to the step that changed it.
